The majority of students in Madison County School District were white in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Among the 4,901 students attending Madison County schools, 68% were white. Hispanic students were the second most common ethnicity, making up 13% of Madison County student body.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common ethnicity in Madison County School District, representing 69% of the student body.

In the 2022-23 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county increased 2.9% when compared to the previous year.

Madison County School District, the only school district in the county, has a main office in Danielsville.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, which is better than the national average of 16:1. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
