East Jackson Elementary School and Gum Springs Elementary School have both earned the Grand Champion Award at the First Lego League Super Regional Competition. These schools were among 24 teams competing on Sunday, and their victory has secured them a place in the state championship scheduled for March.

The Grand Champion Award is given to teams that fully embrace the Core Values of the FIRST LEGO League Challenge. This includes excellence and innovation in Robot Performance, Robot Design, and the Innovation Project.

South Jackson Elementary School also participated as the only other team from Jackson County at Sunday's event. They received the Core Values award, which is awarded to a team that shows extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, demonstrating teamwork by recognizing they can achieve more together than individually while maintaining respect for each other and other teams.
