Jackson County School System Superintendent Dr. Philip Brown was honored with the Georgia Schools Superintendents Association's (GSSA) President's Award for Northeast Georgia RESA. The award is designated for superintendents who exhibit exceptional leadership in their school systems.

Dr. Brown began his tenure as JCSS Superintendent on June 1, 2022. Under his supervision, the Jackson County Schools has grown rapidly, becoming the fastest-growing school system in Georgia, now serving over 11,300 students. The system has constructed two new schools, both fully paid, and is planning three additional schools in the Hoschton area.

The school system has also seen notable improvements in academic performance, with the highest graduation rate of 96 percent recorded in the 2023-24 school year and improved content mastery scores across all grades.
