Eight students from the Jackson County School System achieved top-three placements in their respective categories at the State Technology Competition held on Saturday.
Peyton Borsa from Gum Springs Elementary School secured third place in Internet Applications for the 3rd/4th Grade Division. Rhys Magness and Ethan Weaver, representing North Jackson Elementary School, earned second place in Digital Game Design for the 5th/6th Grade Division. Rithvicka Purushothaman of Gum Springs Elementary also achieved a third-place finish in Multimedia Applicants for the same grade division.
At the high school level, East Jackson had notable performances with two robotics teams finishing within the top three. The team comprising Duncan Porter and Jordan Welty took second place in the ninth and tenth grade division. Dennis Cooper and Jacob Mayhue secured third place in the eleventh and twelfth grade division.
