Jackson County sends record 22 students to state technology competition

The Jackson County School System is set to send 22 students to the State Technology Competition this March. This marks a record number of participants from the system, following their successful performance at the regional competition held in Barrow County last weekend.

Students earned their spots in the state-level event by securing first-place finishes in various categories during the regional contest. The students and their respective categories are as follows:

- Lillian Hayes in Animation

- Brighton Andrews in Audio Production

- Olivia Duitsman in Device Modification

- Ethan Weaver, Rhys Magness, Samuel Layfield, and DeEric Burns in Digital Game Design

- Jacob Carthern in Graphic Design

- Peyton Borsa and Malhar Trivedi in Internet Applications

- Bartu Tunctan in Mobile Applications

- Anabelle Spence and Rithvicka Purushothaman in Multimedia Applications

- Beckett Rylee, Avery Connor, and Ella Melyanets in Productivity Design

- Victor Negrete-Loera, Duncan Porter, Jordan Welty, Dennis Cooper, Jacob Mayhue, and Walter Norman across Robotics and Video Production

The upcoming state competition will provide these students with an opportunity to showcase their skills on a larger stage.
