The East Jackson Middle School Junior Nursery Landscape Career Development Team has secured a first-place finish in the Area 2 contest, earning them a spot in the state competition. The team members are Ada Johnson, who achieved second place overall, Anslee Bouchard with third place, Emery Beauchamp at fourth place, and Makaylah Renrick in seventh place.
Competing against other middle school and ninth-grade teams from the area, the team showcased their skills and dedication during the event.
The Junior Nursery/Landscape CDE aims to foster interest in the nursery and landscape field among junior high students while preparing them for more advanced competitions at the high school level. This event tests participants on plant identification and includes a written exam covering fundamental horticulture knowledge.
