Enrollment Analysis: White students comprised 79% of Oconee County's school district student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 6,653 white students enrolled in Oconee County school district in the 2022-23 school year, 1.1% more than the previous year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Data showed that Oconee County school district welcomed 8,422 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 79% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the county's school district.

This is the only school district located within Oconee County, with its main office in Watkinsville.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, which is better than the national average of 16:1. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
