PRINCE AVENUE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL: Owens, Barrett, and Tebeau Named Master Teachers

Award

Prince Avenue Christian School issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

Three teachers from Prince Avenue Christian School were recently named by the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) as Master Teachers. High school science teacher Carrie Owens, high school history teacher Karen Barrett, and first-grade teacher Mary Elizabeth Tebeau were chosen from 170 GISA member schools.

The selection process for the Master Teacher program is challenging and competitive. To be considered for the program, candidates are required to submit an application as well as a portfolio including three tangible examples of outstanding work related to the classroom and to sharing and collaborating with other educators.  Among other requirements is an unedited video of the candidate’s classroom teaching utilizing best practices and five letters of recommendation.

Prince has 14 teachers who have achieved the distinguished honor of GISA Master Teacher. Congratulations to these faculty members for their exemplary work and for all that they contribute to Prince Avenue Christian School.
