Based on COVID-19 trends in the community and state, Brenau University decided on Thursday, Jan. 6, to delay on-ground classes for the spring semester until Wednesday, Jan. 12, and temporarily move the majority of these courses online.

BRENAU UNIVERSITY: Additional enhancements coming to the Brenau Downtown Campus
Brenau University, in the continuing development of its campus location in downtown Gainesville, will invest over $1.95 million for exterior construction to the Downtown Center facility. This project will create a new main entrance, easily accessible via the Gainesville and Roosevelt Squares, in addition to other improvements at various entrances around the entire facility.

As we begin the 143rd year in the history of Brenau with the return of residential students to campus this week, it is important to pause a moment and reflect back on all that we accomplished during the past year. As Brenau University students returned to the classroom for the start of the new academic year on Monday, Aug. 23, they were greeted by a special guest who traveled more than 4,000 miles to speak about the increasing importance of female leadership and representation.

BRENAU ACADEMY: Students from Brenau’s partnership with Panama spend the summer learning and exploring
Since arriving at Brenau University in April, the first cohort of students in the university’s partnership with Panama’s Institute for the Development of Human Resources have spent their time studying English and learning more about their new home for the next five years.

While students in Brenau University’s Anhui Normal University partnership have been learning remotely from China over the past year, many have found a way to stay connected to the campus community by teaching free virtual Chinese lessons to faculty, staff and fellow students in the United States.

For the 12th year in a row, Brenau University has been named a Champions of Character Five-Star institution by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Golden Tigers were also one of the 60 schools to achieve silver-level status.
