Olivia Wilson, a University of Georgia student and Jackson County High School alumna, is pursuing her passion for sports photography while working for the UGA Athletic Department. Seated in the media workroom at Stegeman Coliseum, she reviews photos taken during a basketball warmup session. As a 6-foot-1 undergraduate, Wilson covers various sports events, including basketball, baseball, softball, and tennis.

After transferring to UGA last winter, Wilson embraced her role within the athletic department. "This last semester was crazy," she said. Her involvement in sports photography began at Jackson County High School under the guidance of athletic director Brad Hayes. "That is where I figured out where I wanted to do sports journalism," she explained.

Wilson graduated from JCHS in 2020 amid the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. She then attended Georgia College in Milledgeville and worked with their athletic media team before joining UGA. During her time at Georgia College, she also photographed for the Macon Bacon summer baseball team.

Her future plans include covering UGA football games and graduating from UGA's Grady College of Journalism in May 2025 with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Human Development. "I would love to do something with athletics," Wilson stated.

Wilson remains open about her post-graduation plans but expressed fondness for Athens as a potential place to start her career. "Maybe if UGA sees something in me and offers me a full-time job," she said optimistically.
