Gum Springs Elementary School and Maysville Elementary School have been recognized as PBIS Distinguished Schools by the Georgia Department of Education. The PBIS, or Positive Behavior Intervention Systems, distinction is awarded to schools in Georgia that meet all five data categories established by the state. These categories include reducing office discipline referrals, in-school suspension, and out-of-school suspension rates.
