Three schools from the Jackson County School System have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report in their latest Best Schools Lists, announced on Thursday.
East Jackson Elementary School and West Jackson Elementary School earned spots on the Best Elementary Schools list. Additionally, West Jackson Middle School was included in the Best Middle Schools list. These distinctions were awarded as a result of the schools ranking within the top 40 percent statewide in Georgia.
The evaluation process by U.S. News & World Report considers student proficiency levels in mathematics, reading, and language arts based on state assessments. The assessment formula equally weighs test scores and contextualizes results considering socioeconomic demographics.
