Risk-limiting audit for May 21 election begins on May 30

In compliance with the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) § 21-2-498 and Georgia State Election Board Rule 183-1-15-.04, the Athens-Clarke County Elections Department has announced that it will conduct a Risk-Limiting Audit (RLA) of the May 21, 2024 General Primary & Nonpartisan General Election. The audit is set to commence on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. If necessary, the RLA will continue on Friday, May 31 beginning at 9:00 AM until its completion.

The audit process will be conducted at the Athens-Clarke County Facilities Management Building located at 2555 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605. The department has also made it clear that the audit is open to public observation.
