The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department has announced changes to its collection schedule due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Compost, garbage, and recycling collections will be suspended on Thursday, November 28th, and Friday, November 29th, 2024. Leaf and Limb collections will not occur during the entire week of Thanksgiving.
For residents and businesses outside the downtown district, Monday's collection will remain unchanged. Collections scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday will occur on Tuesday. Thursday's collection will be moved to Wednesday. The regular pick-up schedule will resume on Monday, December 2nd, 2024. Residents are reminded to place their trash and recycling roll-carts at the curb by 7:00 AM on their designated pick-up day.
Those with services within the Downtown District will continue with their regular collection schedule.
