The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, “Police State,” is coming to an Atlanta movie theater on October 23.
“I honestly wouldn't have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie,” D’Souza told Athens Reporter. “Which really shows that we have seen a speedy introduction of the police state on many different levels.”
The film shows the roots of what D’Souza calls “police state” activity by the government from the so-called “Patriot Act” following 9-11 to the more recent instances of “COVID" lockdowns, social media censorship, prosecution of concerned parents at school board meetings, and the surveillance and detention of Americans who were in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.
“Police State” features D’Souza, as well as seasoned actor Nick Searcy, and interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R), radio host Dan Bongino, and a number of government whistleblowers.
The film's trailer has received 74 million views on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, as of publication time.
University 16 Cinemas, 1793 Oconee Connector, will host a showing at 7 p.m. on October 23.
The movie’s website lists additional viewings in other cities as well, including Atlanta, Brunswick, Canton, Colombus, Lawrenceville, and Savannah.
