Oconee County Government to Hold Town Hall August 23 at Civic Center

Oconee County Government will host a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 6 p.m. at the Oconee County Civic Center. The meeting will be open for both in-person attendance and virtual attendance via Zoom and will include information on a potential Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) of 1% that will be on the November 8, 2022 ballot.

Town Hall Meetings provide an opportunity for citizens to meet with their Oconee County Commissioners and voice their comments, concerns, and questions.

The TSPLOST that Oconee County citizens will vote on during the November 8 election will include four categories:

  • Millage rate reduction resulting in lower property taxes
  • Safety & operational improvements to existing roads
  • New trails & paths
  • Repaving of roads based on the paving index, an assessment of county road condition
A brief online TSPLOST Community Survey is also available for residents to complete.

Visit our website for details on connecting to the meeting via Zoom.

For more information about the proposed TSPLOST, visit www.oconeecounty.com/tsplost.

The Oconee County Civic Center is located at 2661 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville.
