Barrow County Emergency Services recently promoted Sean Cowan to the rank of Lieutenant to fill a vacant position

Barrow County Emergency Services recently promoted Sean Cowan to the rank of Lieutenant to fill a vacant position. Lieutenant Cowan also completed his Paramedic certification in July.

Lieutenant Cowan joined Barrow County Emergency Services as a Fire Recruit in May of 2018. Since completing his recruit training, Sean started working on certifications to help advance his career. He has completed Fire Officer 1 and 2 and is working on completing his Fire Science Degree and Paramedicine Degree. 

“Lieutenant Cowan is a great example of the opportunities offered here at Barrow County Emergency Services,” stated Chief Alan Shuman. “He has worked hard since joining the department, taken numerous training classes and has worked his way up to Lieutenant. I am proud of Sean’s efforts, and am honored to work with the many staff members we have like him.
