A tweet by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is receiving pushback from conservative voters, claiming her response to a video of Christians singing praise songs during a commercial flight on the eve of Easter Sunday is “anti-Christian.”
In her tweet, Omar shared the video and offered a comparison, asking what would happen if she and her family held a prayer session on their next flight as practicing Muslims.
"I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane. How do you think it will end?" Omar wrote in her tweet on Sunday.
The video, posted on TikTok by user Jack Jensz Jr, went viral over Easter weekend, showing a packed flight singing a Christian worship song.
According to Fox News, Omar's tweet has been met with significant criticism, mostly claiming that her post contains anti-Christian sentiment.
Among the critics, Vernon Jones, Republican candidate for Georgia's 10th Congressional District, commented on Omar's tweet, asking the Representative why she "[hates] Christians?” and telling her to “head back to … wherever (she’s) from.”
Jones is a former Democrat who earned former President Donald Trump's endorsement.
