Teresa Swaim, a teacher at West Jackson Elementary School, has been named the Georgia Pre-K Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made during a surprise event at the school in Hoschton on Tuesday morning.
Swaim has worked for the Jackson County School System since 2006 and has taught Pre-K at West Jackson Elementary since 2012. She has previously been a finalist for the Pre-K Teacher of the Year award three times in her career.
The Georgia Pre-K Teacher of the Year award is designed to honor outstanding Pre-K teachers and highlight excellence within early childhood education. Recipients of this award serve as ambassadors for Georgia’s Pre-K program for one year.
