West Jackson Elementary School has been named a Creative School, Arts Integration School of Excellence by the Georgia Department of Education, according to a June 4 announcement. The award recognizes the school’s arts integration programs and implemented initiatives.

Under the Creative School Arts Integration Program, all students at West Jackson Elementary have access to arts integration in every subject area. The school reports that its programs are rigorously designed and relevant to the curriculum, ensuring comprehensive arts education for students. Ongoing professional development for staff, a well-structured program, and community engagement in the arts are also cited as contributing factors to this recognition.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations on this achievement,” said representatives from West Jackson Elementary School regarding the honor.

Jackson County School System operates educational facilities across seven elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and a career center in Jackson County, Georgia; it serves more than 11,200 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade with a focus on academics, arts, and athletics. The district fosters cultural and social development through these programs and has earned recognition as a Top Workplace by major publications such as Atlanta Journal-Constitution and USA Today, according to the official website.

The Creative School designation highlights West Jackson Elementary’s commitment to integrating arts into daily learning experiences.
