Victoria J. Haneman, who holds the Chaffin Chair of Fiduciary Law, appeared on BBC Radio Ulster’s program “Sunday Sequence” to discuss issues surrounding data privacy after a person’s death. The segment, titled “Oliver Plunkett, Relics, Sudan, Digital Resurrection,” was hosted by Mark Davenport and aired on November 2, 2025.

Haneman addressed concerns related to how digital information is managed and protected when an individual passes away. The discussion explored current practices and potential legal challenges associated with digital legacy and posthumous data privacy.

“Issues of data privacy after death are becoming increasingly important as more aspects of life move online,” Haneman said during the broadcast.
