The University of Georgia announced on March 27 its annual recognition of students, faculty, staff, and alumni achievements as part of the longstanding Honors Week tradition.

Honors Week is an important event for the university community, providing a time to celebrate individuals whose work supports the institution’s mission through a commitment to excellence.

According to the announcement, this year’s honorees include recipients in categories such as SEC Professor of the Year, Meigs Teaching Professors, Russell Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, Regents’ Professors, and University Professors. Other awards being presented recognize excellence in teaching, research contributions, public service and outreach by both faculty and staff members. The university will also honor creative teaching approaches and achievements in service-learning.

Additional distinctions highlighted include the Innovation in AI Teaching Award as well as Graduate School Faculty Awards and Graduate School Student Awards. These honors reflect a broad range of accomplishments across different disciplines at UGA.

The tradition of Honors Week dates back to the 1930s at UGA. Each year it serves not only to acknowledge outstanding performance but also encourages continued dedication among members of the university community.
