A team of third-year law students from the University of Georgia School of Law has won the regional round of the National Moot Court Competition, which took place in Atlanta over the weekend. The team members—Elizabeth N. Burns, Taylor N. Hoying, and Antavious L. McCarden—will advance to compete at the national level in New York City in January.
Elizabeth N. Burns received recognition as the best oralist for both the final and preliminary rounds of the competition.
The students were coached by Adjunct Professor Cole M. Harper and alumna Casey E. Wofford (J.D.’25).
According to organizers, “The National Moot Court Competition is co-sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the New York City Bar Association. More than 150 accredited law schools annually participate in this prestigious competition involving more than 1,000 students.”
