UGA law students reach semifinals at ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition

The University of Georgia School of Law announced on Apr. 14 that second-year students Divya Kishore and Anna Grace Rogers finished as semifinalists at the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Fellow second-year students Katherine H. “Kate” Branch and Lisa R. Calvert also advanced to the national tier of the tournament.

Kishore and Rogers earned fourth place for their appellate brief, with Kishore recognized as a top-five oralist in the competition. Third-year students Kerolls “Kero” Gadelrab, Taylor N. Hoying, and Casey E. Smith served as student coaches, while Holly A. Pierson (J.D.’96) acted as alumni coach.

The achievement comes amid a strong tradition of advocacy success at the University of Georgia School of Law, which has earned national and regional titles in various competitions according to the official website.
