Clinical Assistant Professor and Land Conservation Clinic Director Steffney R. Thompson has been included in one of eleven teams awarded the 2025 Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grants, according to a March 13 announcement from the University of Georgia.

The seed grant program is designed to promote cross-disciplinary research across the university. It is sponsored by UGA President Jere W. Morehead and represents the largest internal seed grant initiative funded by the institution. The program has become highly competitive, with a record 161 proposals submitted for the 2025 cycle and fewer than seven percent receiving funding.

Thompson’s project, titled “Unlocking the Ecological ‘Black Box’ of Green Stormwater Infrastructure for More Resilient and Sustainable Cities,” was among those selected. The awards were announced in an article published by Olivia Randall in UGA Today on March 12.
