The Athens-Clarke County (ACC) Solid Waste Department has announced the closure of all its facilities on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in observance of Earth Day. This closure affects the Solid Waste main office, CHaRM, Teacher Reuse Store, and the landfill.
Annually, the ACC Solid Waste Department observes several holidays when their facilities are closed. These include New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Earth Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
