The Athens Cultural Affairs Commission (ACAC) is inviting applications for three volunteer positions, each with a term of three years. The commission's role is to promote the arts within the Athens-Clarke County community and advise local government on cultural development.

"The mission of ACAC is to foster the development and enjoyment of performing, visual, cultural, and other arts in the Athens-Clarke County community," reads their announcement. They also contribute recommendations to local planning efforts.

The commission holds meetings monthly on the second Monday at 6:00 PM. In addition to these meetings, committee work occurs throughout the month. Applicants must reside in Athens-Clarke County and have expertise or interest in areas such as arts, public administration, community engagement, outreach, grant writing, or arts education and advocacy.

Applications are due by Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Selected candidates will be invited for interviews before final recommendations are made to the Mayor and Commission. Successful applicants will begin their terms once approved.

Interested individuals can apply online at www.accgov.com/acac or contact ACCGov Public Art Coordinator Tatiana Veneruso via email at tatiana.veneruso@accgov.com for more information.
