Lay Park shifts to emergency shelter due to winter storm

In response to predicted winter storm conditions, Governor Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency that includes Athens-Clarke County. As part of the measures, Lay Park Community Center will suspend all regular activities to function as an emergency shelter and warming station. This operational change will start at 8:00 AM on Friday, January 10, 2025, and is expected to continue until at least 7:00 AM on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
