Due to severe weather conditions affecting the Athens area, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCGov) has announced the closure of general office operations and workstations for non-emergency personnel on Friday, January 10, 2025. This closure includes Solid Waste offices.

Additionally, services that are usually available on Saturdays will not be operational on January 11. These include CHaRM and the Landfill. The status of trash and recycling collection services for commercial curbside, front-end loader, and roll-off containers will be assessed on the mornings of January 10 and 11. It is important to note that residential collections do not occur on Fridays.

The public is advised to stay safe and warm during this period.
