The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCGov) is seeking public input on a new sidewalk project along Sycamore Drive. This initiative is part of the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) 2023 Project 15, aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety and connectivity to Atlanta Highway.

A public meeting is planned for Thursday, December 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Room A of the Athens-Clarke County Library located at 2025 Baxter Street. Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the project, engage with staff, and provide feedback on the proposed sidewalk design. A Spanish interpreter will be present.

Feedback can also be submitted through an online survey available at www.accgov.com/sycamore until December 15. The project webpage offers further information about the initiative.

Funding for this project amounts to $1.47 million from TSPLOST funds. Depending on costs and funding availability, improvements could include land acquisition, design work, construction of sidewalks and potentially crosswalks, signage installation, waste receptacles, lighting enhancements, and other safety measures.

For additional details or inquiries, individuals can contact the Capital Projects Department by calling 706-613-3025 or emailing splost@accgov.com. More information is also accessible via www.accgov.com/tsplost.
