The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department has announced changes to its collection schedule in observance of Veterans Day on November 11, 2024. Services for compost, garbage, recycling, and leaf and limb collections will be suspended on that day.
For residential and commercial customers outside the downtown district, the adjusted schedule is as follows: Monday's collection will take place on Tuesday; Tuesday's collection will occur on Wednesday; Wednesday's collection will be moved to Thursday; and Thursday's collection will happen on Friday. The regular pick-up schedule will resume on Monday, November 18, 2024. Customers are reminded to have their trash and recycling roll-carts at the curb by 7:00 AM on their scheduled service day.
Customers within the Downtown District will not experience any changes to their regular service schedule.
