The Athens-Clarke County Elections Department has announced the schedule for processing and tabulating absentee ballots and advance votes for the upcoming election on November 5, 2024. This process is in accordance with the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) § 21-2-386(a)(2)(A).
The processing of absentee ballots will occur at the Athens-Clarke County Facilities Management Building located at 2555 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605. The dates and times are as follows:
- Wednesday, October 30 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
- Friday, November 1 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Monday, November 4 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, November 5 from 1:00 PM until completion
Additionally, early tabulation of absentee ballots will begin on October 30 at 3:00 PM. The early tabulation of all votes cast during the advance voting period will commence on November 5 at 6:00 PM. These actions are pursuant to O.C.G.A. §21-2-386(a)(3).
