Athens-Clarke County seeks residents for policy-making board positions

The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCGov) is seeking residents to fill several positions on seven policy-making boards. The available positions include:

- One position on the Athens-Clarke County Industrial Development Authority for a two-year term.

- Three positions on the Athens-Clarke County Library Board for five-year terms.

- Two positions on the Board of Elections for four-year terms.

- One position on the Board of Tax Assessors for a six-year term.

- One position on the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Region 2 Advisory Council for a partial term expiring June 30, 2027.

- One position on the Historic Preservation Commission for a partial term expiring June 30, 2025.

- Two positions on the Vision Committee for partial terms expiring June 30, 2027.

Incumbents are eligible for reappointment and may reapply. Candidates must be residents of Athens-Clarke County. Further details about each board are available online at www.accgov.com/boards.

Applications can be submitted online or obtained from the Clerk of Commission's Office at City Hall. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, November 1. A separate application is required for each position.

Interviews with applicants are tentatively scheduled by the Mayor and Commission for Thursday, November 14. These interviews will be open to the public, and selected candidates will receive notifications regarding their interview times.

Appointments are expected to be made during the Regular Session meeting on Tuesday, December 3.
