The Athens Cultural Affairs Commission (ACAC) is actively seeking three qualified candidates to fill 3-year volunteer positions. According to the ACAC, the mission of the commission is to "foster the development and enjoyment of performing, visual, cultural, and other arts in the Athens-Clarke County community." Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the ACAC's external website at www.athensculturalaffairs.org to see examples of the work the commission has accomplished.

Applicants must be Athens-Clarke County residents and possess expertise or demonstrated interest in various areas such as the arts, public administration, community engagement, outreach, grant writing, and arts education and advocacy. ACAC holds regular meetings on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m., with additional committee work conducted between these meetings.

The deadline for submitting applications is Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 11:59 PM. Selected applicants will be invited for brief interviews, after which a final selection will be made. The commission will then send a recommendation for appointments to the Mayor and Commission, with volunteer terms commencing upon approval.

For those interested in applying, online applications can be accessed at www.accgov.com/acac. Further inquiries can be directed to ACCGov Public Art Coordinator Tatiana Veneruso at tatiana.veneruso@accgov.com.
