Athens-Clarke County residents are being informed about the upcoming Early Tabulation Process of Absentee Ballots set to take place on March 12, 2024.

According to a notice by the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections, the process will adhere to the guidelines outlined in O.C.G.A. § 21-2-386(a)(2)(A) regarding the safekeeping, certification, and validation of absentee ballots. The board will begin processing the absentee ballots cast in the upcoming presidential preference primary.

The dates and times for the processing have been specified as follows: "Monday, March 11, 2024 - 2:00-5:00 PM" and "Tuesday, March 12, 2024 - 2:00 - completion." This schedule aims to ensure the timely handling of the absentee ballots in preparation for the primary.

Furthermore, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a) (3), the Early Tabulation Process of the Absentee Ballots cast will commence at 2:00 PM on March 12, 2024. Additionally, all votes cast during the Advance Voting period will be included in the tabulation process starting at 6:00 PM on the same day.

The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections is working diligently to facilitate a smooth and efficient tabulation process for the absentee ballots, ensuring transparency and accuracy in the counting of votes.
