January 3 BOC Meeting Highlights | County of Oconee
The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
The following actions were taken at the meeting:
- Announcements
- Remember the family of Junior Watson who worked for Oconee County for over 50 years who recently passed away at the age of 90
- Thanks to county employees and fire rescue volunteers who spent the Christmas weekend helping with weather related water issues
- Sales tax revenue exceeded $1 million dollars for the first time
- Charter Spectrum Broadband project is underway with the installation in December of the first cabinet for the network that will bring internet service to currently underserved areas of the county
- A brief swearing in ceremony for re-elected Commissioners Chuck Horton and Amrey Harden was held
- Approved with conditions Rezone #P22-0252 from R2 MPD (Two Family Residential District) to OBP (Office-Business Park District) for ± 3.33 acres located at 3651 Mars Hill Road
- Approved with conditions Rezone #P22-0253 for Change in Conditions of Approval for Case #6797 for ± 2.6 acres located at 8801 Macon Highway
- Approved with conditions Special Use #P22-0254 for Special Use Approval for Self-Storage in B2 zoning for ± 2.6 acres located at 8801 Macon Highway
- Approved with one condition Variance #P22-0255 for a Special Exception for a reduction in required landscape buffer between adjacent uses for ± 2.6 acres located at 8801 Macon Highway
- Approved with conditions Rezone #P22-0257 for a Change in Conditions of Approval for Case #4706 for ± 2.18 acres located on Old Macon Highway
- Approved with conditions Special Use #P22-0256 for Special Use Approval for Self-Storage in B2 zoning for ± 2.18 acres located on Old Macon Highway
- Approved with conditions Special Use #P22-0260 for a Change in Conditions of Approval for Case #7034 for ± 114 acres located at 4080 Barnett Shoals Road
- Approved Resolution for Homestead Exemption Changes
- Approved Contract with Corporate Environments for Administrative Building FFE
- Approved Budget Submittal Plan
- Approved the 2023 Alcohol License Renewal for A&P Management dba Chevron Food Mart; 5300 Macon Highway, Bishop, with Sahil Kumar as the Registered Agent
- Approved the Alcohol License Request for Bobalicious Cafe & Sushi One; 1430 Capitol Avenue, Watkinsville, with Hang "Julie" Nguyen as the Registered Agent
- Approved seeking sealed bids for the Government Annex and Oconee County Library Buildings
- Approved Conveyance of the Post Office Land to the Oconee County Industrial Development Authority
