Call for Special Election for State House, District 119

The Special Election is in portions of Barrow and Jackson Counties for Georgia House District 119 to fill a vacancy due to the resignation of Representative-elect Danny Rampey.  A run-off, if needed, shall be held on February 28, 2023.


Qualifying for the special election shall be held at the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office at 2 MLK Jr. Drive, Suite 802, Floyd West Tower, Atlanta, Georgia 30334.  The dates and hours of qualifying will be Tuesday, January 3, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2023, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m., and Thursday, January 5, 2023, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m.  The qualifying fee shall be $400.00.


Tuesday, January 3, 2023, is the last day to register to vote for all persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to vote in the Special Election.  Advance in-person absentee voting will begin on January 9, 2023.    


Early Voting Hours and Location

Jackson County Election Office (Ponchie Beck Election Center) located at 441 Gordon St in Jefferson, GA  30549.

Monday-Saturday, January 9th- January 14th from 9AM-5PM

Tuesday-Saturday, January 17th- January 21st from 9AM-5PM

Monday- Friday, January 23rd- January 27th from 9AM-5PM
