The Classic Center Cultural Foundation Names 2022 Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund Recipient

The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2022 Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund: Chloe Hartley, Athens Technical College, Talese Walton, Athens Community Career Academy graduate; Maya Dubos, The University of Georgia; Emily Edenfield, The University of Georgia; Ivey Meeks, The University of Georgia; Katie Robertson, The University of Georgia.

The Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund provides up to $25,000 to individuals interested in pursuing a career in hospitality, event management, music, or the sports management industry. A total of $15,000 was awarded to this year’s recipients. The Classic Center Cultural Foundation awards $60,000 in annual scholarships in the areas of hospitality, performing, and visual arts.

The Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund was established to honor Paul Martin and his lifelong contributions to Athens. “Paul Martin has been an essential part of the vision and establishment of the continuum of hospitality education, which meets individuals where they are in their career path to teach them the necessary skills to succeed in the hospitality industry,” said Beth Bryant, Director of The Classic Center Cultural Foundation. Martin is a supporter of both classroom curriculum and hands on training and feels students receive the best education when these two tactics are combined.

Paul Martin was a member of The Classic Center Authority Board from 1996 to 2004. After serving on The Classic Center Authority Board, Martin became a Board Emeritus member of The Classic Center Cultural Foundation Board of Directors, a lifelong status. He is a gifted teacher with a love of sports and education. Martin’s value of serving others through hospitality, teamwork, and servant style leadership have helped shape The Classic Center into the place it is today.
