Oconee County Seeks Applicants for Citizen Advisory Boards and Committees

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizen applicants for appointments to the following:

Oconee County Planning Commission: Two appointments to start October 1, 2022 and expire September 30, 2026.  Members provide recommendations regarding rezones and other pertinent land use applications to the Board of Commissioners. Meetings are the third Monday each month at 7:00 pm in the Oconee County Courthouse. 

Recreation Advisory Committee: Four appointments to begin October 1, 2022 and expire September 30, 2024. One appointment to start immediately and expire September 30, 2023. Members review and discuss issues affecting the County’s Parks and Recreation facilities, activities, and formulate recommendations on significant issues.  Meetings are held the third Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September and November at 5:00 pm at the Oconee County Veterans Park Community Center.

Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission:  One appointment to begin immediately and expire on June 30, 2023.   The Commission is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful dedicated to increasing environmental stewardship among Oconee citizens.  Meetings are held bi- monthly on the second Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Oconee Government Annex at 1291 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville.
