County of Oconee issued the following announcement on Mar. 2.

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. The following actions were taken at the meeting:

Announcements
- A Town Hall Meeting will be held on March 31 at 6 p.m. at the Oconee County Civic Center
Approved with one condition Rezone P21-0244 for ±4.46 acres located at 1820 Wild Lane from AR (Agricultural Residential District) to AR (Agricultural Residential District) with modifications to rezone #6645
Approved with conditions Rezone P21-0262 for ±2 acres located at 6141 Hog Mountain Road from AG (Agricultural District) to AR (Agricultural Residential District)
Approved with conditions Rezone P21-0266 for ±2.7 acres located at the northwest intersection of Hog Mountain Road and Mars Hill Road from B-1 (General Business District) to B-1 (General Business District) with modifications to rezone #4432
Approved with conditions Special Use P21-0267 for ±2.7 acres located at the intersection of Hog Mountain Road and Mars Hill Road for a car wash
Postponed until April 5 Board of Commissioners Meeting action on Variance #P22-0008 for ±0.98 acres located at 1040 Creek Bridge to reduce the rear setback for an accessory building greater than 144 square feet
Approved amendments to the Oconee County Unified Development Code Articles 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, and Appendix A
Appointed Donna Smith Fee and Kris Robinson to the Oconee County Board of Tax Assessors for two six-year terms beginning April 1, 2022, and expiring March 31, 2028
Appointed Melissa Braswell as Oconee County Finance Director
Authorized the sale of the Elections and Ward Buildings
Awarded the construction of Watkinsville Sewer Line A to Strickland and Sons Pipeline
Awarded Elevated Water Tank Maintenance Program contract to American Tank Maintenance
Approved year-to-date budget amendment requests and necessary contract adjustments
Approved early retirement offer
Approved restatement of deferred compensation plan
Approved the alcohol license request for Golden Pantry #77, 5171 Macon Highway, Bishop, with Jacob Forehand as the Registered Agent
