St. Mary's Hospital issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.
Congratulations to Joy Elrod, an RN on the Mother/Baby Unit at Sacred Heart Hospital, who has received St. Mary’s December Spirit of Mercy Award. Joy joined Cobb Memorial Hospital in 1990 and has worked with St. Mary’s and the Ty Cobb system for over 30 years.
She shows the utmost respect for every patient, colleague, and provider. She is a great teacher who puts safety first. During her career, she has also provided care for new mothers and babies in their homes, including helping those without transportation get to doctor’s appointments and even emergency visits.
