Golf1

Prince Avenue Christian School issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.

Four Prince Avenue seniors recently signed to play sports at the college level.

Madi Gillespie signed to play softball at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.  Head Coach Donnie Byrom describes Madi as an exceptional young lady who set her goals early on Division 1 softball.  “Madi went about preparing herself, working hard, and training to play at that level.  She made our team better showing character, heart, intensity, and pride in every practice and every play for the past four years.  We wish her our best and know she represents all that is exceptional about Prince softball.”

Parker Houck signed to play golf at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia.  Head Coach Jimmy Phillips explains that Parker is not just an excellent golfer, but a young man of character and integrity.  “Parker leads by example.  He was instrumental in our winning the State Championship last year, playing both rounds of the tournament under par. The Prince Golf family wishes Parker the very best as he embarks on his collegiate golf journey next fall.”

Hunter Smith signed to play golf at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.  Coach Phillips describes Hunter as a crucial part of the Wolverine Boys Golf team’s success for the past three years.  “His legacy of outstanding play includes winning the Area Championship throughout his high school career and a State Championship last season.  As he takes his golf game to the Division I level, I know Hunter will achieve great things.”

Anna Greer Vandagriff signed to play Volleyball at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.  Head Coach Morgan Garretson explains that Anna Greer’s talent is obvious when she steps on the court of any gym, but her character is what makes her a standout.  “Anna Greer sets the bar high for Prince Volleyball. She is a competitor at heart, but her work ethic is unmatched.  Anna Greer displays a quiet strength and humility in all areas of her life and leads by example on and off the court.”
