County of Oconee issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
A countywide vote on the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All Oconee County residents are eligible to vote on the TSPLOST.
The TSPLOST is a one percent sales tax used exclusively for funding transportation purposes, including road repaving and safety and operational improvements, such as should improvements, road widening, roundabouts, and projects form the Transportation Master Plan. Funds may also be used for multi-use trails and to offset projects budgeted through the county’s General Fund.
