County of Oconee issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
Due to supply chain issues, only the small Pay As You Throw (PAYT) bags are available for purchase at the county's five Recycling/Waste Centers. Large bags are currently not available, and no bags are currently available at any grocery stores, convenience stores, or other retail locations.
Small bags are currently being offered for a reduced price of $1 per bag.
The option of bulk waste is also available at the Hwy 441 Recycling/Waste Center.
As a reminder, cash is not accepted at any of the Recycling/Waste Centers. Please plan to pay by check; the Hwy 441 Recycling/Waste Center can also accept debit and credit cards.
