Oconee County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 20.
The Oconee Chamber is a PROUD Lydia's Place Provisions of Hope Drop Off Location!
From now through August 16th, we welcome you to drop off items at the Chamber office.
The Provisions of Hope Basket Drive is an annual campaign first established in 2017. Approximately 400 young adults age out of foster care each year. Many more experience homelessness. These baskets help to supply young adults, who have aged out of the foster care system or who are faced with homelessness or housing insecurity, between 17-24 years of age with basic needs and supplies which include personal hygiene products, items to outfit their bedroom, bathroom & school supplies. These baskets are designed to help welcome a student who has overcome all obstacles to attend school and remind them that they are loved & cared for as they begin the next step in their secondary education journey.
