COUNTY OF OCONEE: Oconee County Coroner’s Office Receives IACME Accreditation

Schoolaward2

County of Oconee issued the following announcement on July 21.

The Oconee County Coroner’s Office recently received accreditation by the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME). The official Certificate of Accreditation was presented by  IACME President Gary Watts to County Coroner Ed Carson during the association’s annual training conference in July.

The Coroner’s Office received accreditation following an audit of service and procedures. The office was recognized for its high level of service, timely and compassionate death investigations, and highly trained investigators. The office was also commended for maintaining an effective working relationship with local law enforcement, EMS providers, and the medical community.

Work toward accreditation was completed through a Paul Coverdale Forensic Science Improvement Grant at no cost to taxpayers.
