Cost of college went up for all students at Athens Technical College

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.1 percent for 2018-19 at Athens Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Georgia residents paid $2,798 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $4 more than the $2,794 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 76.3 percent more than residents this year, or $4,934. Their price tag grew 0.1 percent from $4,930 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Georgia residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 85 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 243 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.4 million and 8 students took out student loans totaling more than $40,783.

Including all undergraduates (4,567), 3,449 students used grants or scholarships totaling $14.3 million.
