St. Mary’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Center in Athens, Georgia, has been recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers for 2025. The annual ranking is produced by Newsweek in partnership with Statista Inc., a company known for industry rankings and statistical analysis.
The selection process evaluated centers based on several factors: quality metrics from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an online survey of healthcare professionals such as physicians and therapists, accreditation data from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC), and patient satisfaction scores from Google Reviews.
Founded in 2003 as the region’s first inpatient rehabilitation center, St. Mary’s offers around-the-clock physician-led nursing care and intensive daily therapies to help patients recover from conditions like heart attacks, strokes, amputations, and COPD.
“St. Mary’s is honored to be recognized again on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers,” said Stonish Pierce, President and CEO of Trinity Health Georgia, which includes St. Mary’s. “Doing everything possible to help patients return to their home after a serious medical event is an important part of our mission to serve together as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.”
“This award recognizes our commitment to coming together as an interdisciplinary team to best meet the needs of our patients,” said Program Director Rebecca Swick. “The conditions our patients experience can be devastating. We are proud that more than 88% of those we care for are able to return home to be with their loved ones.”
Statista collaborates with media partners worldwide to produce industry rankings based on business intelligence research.
