St. Mary’s Health Care System will hold its Community Health Fair at the Athens Regional Library on Tuesday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event was postponed from January due to severe winter weather.

The health fair will include a range of free services and information aimed at promoting health and well-being. Staff from St. Mary’s, including physicians from Community Internal Medicine of Athens, will provide blood pressure screenings, diabetes prevention and A1C screenings, end-of-life care information, CPR demonstrations for heart attack care, infection control guidance, and nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian.

Additional organizations such as Athens Neighborhood Health Center and Advantage Behavioral Health Services will participate by offering information and services. The Athens Pop Up Park will bring a mobile activity bus with games and activities for attendees. The social worker from the Athens-Clarke County Library will also be available during the event. Other local groups focused on community health are expected to take part as well.

The library is located at 2025 Baxter Street in Athens and has free parking available. It is accessible via Athens Transit and meets ADA requirements for accessibility.

For more details about the event, contact Catherine Gurak, St. Mary’s Community Benefit and Outreach coordinator, at catherine.gurak@stmarysathens.org.
