ESL Classes: Our ESL classes at Clarke Central High School & in the community have kicked off strong. Our GED classes in Spanish are also in full swing. We have many that are returning students from last semester and many new faces as well. Now that the weather is starting to get warmer, we will be expecting even more students to join us! We have had over 100 students register for our classes since Fall 2022.

Volunteers: We have an amazing group of volunteers that has been with us this year. We have between 6 – 8 volunteers on Tuesday nights and 3 -4 on Thursday nights for our conversation classes. Most of them are UGA students and others are members of the Athens community! We could not do our classes without them. They do such a great job of being conversation partners with our students and helping them to authentically practice their English!

Family Literacy Events: We have partnered with CCSD to offer monthly literacy events. At each event we have a bilingual guest speaker that goes over strategies with parents on how to read with and encourage reading at home with their children. It has been such a fun and special time to share this with these families.
